Aion – Conclusion

I got to a point where I went too fast on the quests and had to grind a bit of mosters.  I discovered the cheap trick of the ‘toggle Rest’ feature.  It quadruples your HP and MP natural regeneration.  Makes it easy to kill a mob then rest.  Just tricky when you deal with multiple or difficult enemies.  I also just got a new ability that pumps my movement speed by 20%.  Just when grinding and running around gets a little old, they toss in new skills and such to keep you interested and going.  The quests themselves also start amping up from the basic ‘kill this’ quests.  You will have to play to find out the story though yourself.  I don’t want to ruin the fun.

Because I got to a point where I had to grind a bit, I looked into if my efforts would carry over.  The closed beta data was reset for the open beta.  So most of us are guessing that the game will be released with a data reset again.  I am stopping playing the game now because I plan on purchasing it when it comes out.  No need to repeat more missions so I can be entertained by them later.

Overall I have to give this system my seal of approval.  While it doesn’t have the backing of Blizzard’s wealth.  NC Soft has done a great job in making this game.  There are still some bugs and problems but nothing so big that they harm your enjoyment of the game.  As I don’t know the endgame that is in it, I can’t say if this is a worth continuing past the initial month or two of play.
