Wounding Invoker – Controll and Damage

System: DnD 4.0
Class: Invoker
Level of Build: 9 (could be made as early as 4th level)
Books Required: Players Handbook 2, Divine Power, Arcane Power, Adventurers Vault 1 and 2
Build Requirement: Feats – Arcane Prodigy and Dual Implement Spellcaster, Item: Armor of Sudden Recovery
Example Character Sheet: Kasha the Sadist

This is one of my more interesting builds, capatilizing on the loophole that Sorcerers get to use Daggers as Impliments.  The basic requirements are to use the multiclass feat Arcane Prodigy to get access to Daggers as Impliments.  Then Dual Impliment Spellcaster feat to use two of them to cast spells.  Now you can have two daggers with different proporties that both apply to the spells you cast along with increasing the damage by both thier bonuses.  This makes for alot of fun combinations though I focused on increasing the ammount of ongoing damage and reducing their chances of saving.

The other fun thing to do with the build is the first level Daily Power Execration along with the Armor of Sudden Recovery.  The Power will put 10 ongoing damage on one or two enemies but will give you ongoing 5 damage.  Using the Armor right after will convert that damage to Regeneration 5.  With the character’s current Items and Abilities, you can get this to 14 ongoing damage to the enemies with saves at a -5 for the first round and -4 thereafter ontop of giving you Regeneration 9.

With all this, we cannot forget the other abilities of an Invoker.  A powerfull asset as a Controller with the At-Will and Encounter Powers at hand.  This will help save you for the low AC casters usually come with.  A few things of note is that I tried to get mostly powers that hit only enemies within thier area.  The others you will have to be carefull of where your allies are or else you might ‘accidentally’ hit one or two…
